Ayaté – 100% Natural Fiber Washcloth
- Made from the agave plant
- Gently exfoliates without soap
- Perfect for use with soaps, lotions, gels and creams
- Better than a Loofah!Replacing our popular Cactus cloth, this natural fiber washcloth is made from the “Tree of Wonders” as the agave plant is often called. The agave has been cultivated for thousands of years and over 100 products are made from it. This all natural Ayaté cloth is made in a very labor-intensive process. After the agave leaves are cut, they are cooked and pounded into fibrous strands. They are then softened under rocks for up to a week. Then, one by one each fiber is scraped and washed to remove any remaining debris. The fibers are then soaked in a natural lime solution and hung out to dry. Once dry, they are hand woven, knitted, or crocheted into Ayaté squares. These squares can be used in a variety of everyday uses, including for skin care.
Molly recommends using the Ayaté washcloth for the gentle exfoliation of skin during your bath/shower.
